Nice recent feature in NYT about the huge number of ex-felons disenfranchised in so many states.  It strikes me as so wrong that you can serve out your prison sentence for a crime, but then be punished for life by losing your right to vote.  Honestly, seems fundamentally un-American.  Of course, since this quite dramatically disproportionately affects Black people, it is, of course, fundamentally American.  Two key maps:
