Powerpoint of the year

You so have to check this out.  Trust me.  A NC Republican consulting group put together an amazing powerpoint– presumably to recruit new clients– about the major role they played helping the Republican Party take over the NC legislature 2010 elections.   An amazing insight into the thinking behind political campaigns.  The best part is it shows all sorts campaign mailers– this is where you typically see the dirtiest, nastiest, most dishonest campaign advertisements.  I’ve worked on a couple of projects were we collected and cataloged these, so it’s not new for me, but it’s always fun to see what people come up with.  A sampling below:

Probably the most interesting thing is where they show a mailer they decided was too harsh after Focus Groups:

Apparently, this powerpoint was sitting there available on the web for some time for anybody to see.  That is, until a local reporter posted the link on facebook.  Not surprisingly, it disappeared shortly thereafter.  Fortunately, she saved a copy.   Again, pretty amazing stuff.  Check it out.
