Charts of the day (LGBT in America)

This is pretty interesting, via Gallup (and these figures are from a huge number of interviews, so very small margin of error):

Do you, personally, identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender? June 1-Sept. 30, 2012, results

Honestly, would have never guessed that LGBT numbers were lowest among whites.  Now, the following I would have guessed:

Do you, personally, identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender? June 1-Sept. 30, 2012, results

Honestly, what this suggests to me is that the “real” figure is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6% +.  Younger Americans have been raised in a world where it is much more okay to admit this than those over 65 (and less, as well).  The alternative hypothesis that people become less LGBT as they age just doesn’t hold a lot of water.

There’s also a bunch more interesting cross-tabs.  Definitely worth checking out the whole report.
