Not knowing your audience

Wow– glad I answered the phone call from the unfamiliar Washington, DC area number. I was treated to this message:
“Hi, my name is Brian Camenker; I’m a Jew from Massachusetts.”
“I’m Peggy B, a Catholic mom from Philadelphia.”
“And, this is Darcy Brandon; I’m a Christian from California. If you believe as we do that marriage and sexuality should only be between a man and a woman, please help us stop Mitt Romney.”
“As Governor, Romney signed ‘Gay Youth Pride Day’ proclamations, promoted homosexuality in our elementary schools, and unconstitutionally ordered state officials to make Massachusetts America’s first same-sex marriage state.
“Romney supports open homosexuality in the military and the ENDA law, making it illegal to fire a man who wears a dress and high heels to work, even if he’s your kid’s teacher.”
“I just don’t want Romney, the Founding Father of gay marriage, pushing his gay agenda on my kids. That’s why I’m going to send a message by voting this Tuesday for Gingrich, Santorum, or Ron Paul – FOR ANYBODY BUT ROMNEY. Can’t Republicans do better than this guy?”

You know, I was going to vote to oppose NC’s absurd same-sex marriage amendment, but now that I know Christians and Jews are in opposition, well, that changes everything! (especially since I’m half-Christian and half-Jewish, depending upon how you want to count it). And now I definitely need to make sure Romney is stopped, lest my kids’ male teachers all start wearing dresses. Oh, the humanity!
And, if this organization wasn’t already dumb enough, how dumb do you have to be to be making this call to a phone number where there is free and public information available that both adult residents are Democrats who have voted in every Democratic primary? Pretty dumb all-around, I’d say.
