The secret about female hyenas

is that they look like male hyenas.  [As you can see, I realized my blog needs to be about more than just politics.  More exciting tidbits from the natural world to come when the mood strikes me]Yep, they have a giant “pseudophallus” which makes them virtually indistinguishable from males. Furthermore, dominant females pass on high doses of testosterone and similar hormones to their offspring so that they will have more aggressive and dominant behavior.
